My Thoughts: The Sealed Kingdom is, so far, a very solid step up from The Allure of Darkness, but it still hasn’t yet captured the magic of The Dark Prince. My favorite thing here is the relationship between Daphne and Harry. There are several intense scenes between them that are really satisfying to read. Honestly, as much as I fucking hate them in Book II, I do think that the shitty romance there makes this payoff way better. Besides that, I really like the rest of the plot too. Hermione’s romance with Draco is finally entertaining to read, and I have to say that this series did an excellent job dealing with Hermione’s turn to the dark side. However, so far, I find the actual plot to be a bit weaker than the other two. However, I’ll be fair and say that I think that’s because the fic hasn’t really kicked into gear yet. Depending on how the actually story goes, this could ver easily become the strongest book in the trilogy. Therefore, I recommend giving this one a go. It has a bunch of really good ideas so far, and the romance is rather compelling.
