Author’s Summary: Petunia married a biochemist, and Harry grew up reading science and science fiction. Then came the Hogwarts letter, and a world of intriguing new possibilities to exploit. And new friends, like Hermione Granger, and Professor McGonagall, and Professor Quirrell…

My Thoughts: A few things to get out of the way. I normally don’t acknowledge this, but you should know that yes, this is a rewrite of an old review. I think that the original review could very well be the worst one I have ever written. My points are sloppy, my writing style is bland at best and borderline unreadable at worst, and I straight up just got some shit wrong in it. If you read the original review, you have my sincerest apologies, and I hope this one does better. Now with that said, welcome to my Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality Review. Now here’s the thing about MoR: it’s really long. It’s over 600,000 words, 120 chapters, and it only covers year one. This means that it will take a while to read the whole thing, and I may forget some of the stuff that happens earlier on in the fic by the time I reach the end. Luckily for me, the wonderful people who made the MoR audiobook divided the thing into six parts, and even gave each part a name (it’s possible that this is the case in the actual fic as well, but I can’t really be fucked to check). So (and for those of you who read my reviews often, you know what’s coming next) here’s what I will do. Below, you see spots in which links to individual reviews of each of the six parts will be inserted as I write them. Then, once all six have been completed, I will give my overall impressions of the fic below those links on this page, and place it in a tier. So with all of that out of the way, I hope you enjoy my review of Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, one of the most famous and controversial Harry Potter fanfics to ever be written.
