The Lion’s Pride

By James Spookie

Status: Complete, Word Count: 140,000, Pairing: Harry Potter/Daphne Greengrass, Genre: Adventure/Romance

Author’s Summary: Second in the Lion’s Trilogy. After Ron’s death, Harry and company face their sixth year at Hogwarts. Trained by Dumbledore, will they unlock the secret in how to defeat Voldemort?

My Thoughts: The Lion’s Pride is a good, solid second part to the trilogy. My favorite bit of this story is the stuff with Dumbledore, and Harry learning about Voldemort. It’s great stuff, and it’s incredibly interesting, and at times compelling, to read. The romance is once again adequate, and the action scenes are once again incredibly engaging. I also like the bit about Harry’s morality having Ron Weasley’s voice. That part is great and only gets better as it goes on. Unfortunately, this one has all the same issues that the previous ones do. Boring, predictable, forgettable villains, and romance cliches. If you enjoyed the first one, check this one out too. If you didn’t, don’t bother.
